Human Resource Manager
Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Human Resource Manager to oversee human resources operations across all Portal Pharmacy branches. In this role, you will be a versatile person with a strong business acumen, not only managing traditional Human Resource responsibilities, but also ensuring that all team members are aligned with their tasks, Key Performance Indicators and performance expectations, the company values, and mission.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resource Operations
- Oversee the full Human Resource lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and exits.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
- Manage payroll inputs, leave tracking, and benefit administration.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and Human Resource systems are up to date and consistently applied.
Performance & Productivity Tracking
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly staff tasks to ensure accountability.
- Check and report on departmental Key Performance Indicators and individual performance targets.
- Work closely with branch managers to identify underperformance and propose improvements.
- Create and implement tools to streamline performance tracking and reviews.
Training & Onboarding
- Ensure all training manuals and employee handbooks are regularly updated and accessible.
- Schedule initial training sessions on essential procedures such as prescription handling, customer service, and POS operations
- Assign mentors or implement a buddy system for new employees to support onboarding and integration.
Workflow Optimization
- Ensure all key workflows are mapped out and process maps are maintained and updated regularly.
- Standardize operating procedures across all branches to maintain consistency in service delivery and internal processes.
- Identify bottlenecks and redundancies in current workflows and propose solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Culture & Development
- Support a strong performance-driven and customer-focused culture.
- Organize training and development plans for staff across branches.
- Facilitate regular performance reviews and one-on-one staff feedback sessions.
- Use employee feedback forms, internal surveys, and regular team meetings to gauge satisfaction and identify training gaps.
- Demonstrate integrity and a strong moral compass in all Human Resource decisions.
- Possess the ability to grow people and develop effective staff engagement systems.
Qualifications & Key Competences
- A Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Higher Diploma in Human Resources
- Holder of a valid Human Resources Practicing License from the IHRM
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in operating Human Resource management systems
- 3+ years in a senior Human Resource role, preferably in retail or multi-branch operations
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Strong ability to track and enforce Key Performance Indicators, goals, and employee responsibilities.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to motivate diverse teams.
- Familiarity with Human Resource systems and performance tracking tools
