Inventory Clerk

Our client, a reputable organization based in Mombasa, is seeking to hire a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to manage and coordinate the procurement of workshop materials and diesel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels, identifying and engaging reliable suppliers, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective purchasing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute the procurement of workshop materials and fuel (diesel) in line with operational needs.
• Identify, evaluate, and liaise with the best suppliers in the market to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels and establish proper re-order levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, including receipts, usage, and reorder transactions.
• Work closely with the workshop and operations teams to forecast material requirements.
• Prepare and present regular inventory reports and procurement updates.
• Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and industry best practices.
• Assist in periodic stock takes and audits.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Contracting, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a workshop or logistics environment.
• Solid knowledge of inventory and stock control systems.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
