Investment Officer Fellow at AlphaMundi Group Ltd
Description
AlphaMundi’s Investment Officer will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, and actively support the
team in Africa with all aspects of the investment process from pipeline sourcing to diligence
and investment monitoring.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- • Industry Research: Perform extensive research on various industries, markets, and companies to identify potential investment opportunities. This includes gathering and analyzing relevant data, financial statements, market trends, competitive landscapes, and other relevant information.
- • Data Analysis: Analyze financial and operational data to evaluate the viability and potential of investment opportunities. Utilize various analytical tools and techniques to assess market trends, competitive positioning, growth potential, and financial performance.
- • Investment Screening: Participate in all parts of the investment process including but not limited to: conducting detailed market and country analysis, performing due diligence on
- pipeline companies, preparing investment memos and recommendations, and contributing to investment decisions;
- • Portfolio Monitoring: Help monitor the current investment portfolio, and provide management support to portfolio companies through the holding period to actively
- manage and mitigate risks.
- • Impact Activities: Help gather data on portfolio companies’ impact and ESG performance, Assess pipeline companies using this metric and research industry best practices.
- Other duties as assigned: As a member of a lean team, it is expected that the Fellow will
willingly take on tasks to support the broader activities of the company.

fashion, and proactively proposes management solutions. The ideal candidate is a team
player who can work long and flexible hours with great autonomy and feels comfortable in a fast-
paced setting; is results-oriented; has an eye for detail and thrives on feedback.
Desired experience and skills:
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or other relevant disciplines from an accredited university. A Master’s degree, ACCA, CFA or CPA would be advantageous.
- • Excellent writing skills and fluent in spoken English.
- • Basic organizational skills, including setting priorities, developing work plans towards multiple goals, monitoring progress and tracking details on information and activities, and being held accountable.
- • Strong financial acumen, including financial analysis, accounting, valuation skills and
Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a good aptitude for proactive communication, transparency, patience, and perseverance.
- Demonstrated passion for impact investing and sustainable development.
- Ability to excel and maintain a positive attitude in a high-performing, fast-paced environment.
- Kenyan citizenship or unrestricted, existing work authorization in Kenya.
- A sense of humor!
The Fellow should be available on a full-time basis for six months.
