HSE Officer

Got a keen eye for safety at the workplace? P. N. Mashru Ltd is seeking a competent, proactive, and experienced HSE Officer to join our team and lead the implementation of our Health, Safety & Environmental standards across our transport, logistics, and operational activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Compliance & Systems – Maintain the HSE management system and ensure alignment with OSHA 2007, DOSH, WIBA, NEMA, and client standards.

• Risk & Inspections – Conduct regular workplace audits, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), hazard identifications, and risk assessments.

• Fleet & Operational Safety – Oversee safety across workshops, loading zones, fleet operations, cargo lashing, and defensive driving practices.

• Incidents & Emergencies – Lead incident investigations, maintain safety records, and manage emergency preparedness (fire drills, spill response).

• Training & Culture – Deliver driver/staff HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and continuous safety awareness.

• Environmental & Facilities – Monitor waste, spill prevention, PPE compliance, and maintenance of safety equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential (Must-Have):

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably within transport, logistics, fleet, manufacturing, petroleum, or industrial operations.

• Knowledge of Kenyan OSHA 2007, WIBA, NEMA, and applicable HSE regulations.

• Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, HSE audits, and safety training.

• Good knowledge of fire safety, first aid, emergency response, and environmental management.

• Strong report-writing, communication, and computer skills.

• Ability to work independently and conduct regular field/site inspections.

Desirable (Added Advantage):

• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification.

• Valid driving licence.
