Clinical Officer
Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Clinical Officer with at least 3 years of post-internship experience to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of health conditions, managing patient care, and contributing to the overall delivery of quality healthcare services in our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough patient consultations, take medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
Diagnose and manage common illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions.
Prescribe appropriate treatment, medication, or referrals as necessary.
Provide emergency medical care and support critical patient management.
Perform minor surgical procedures and medical interventions.
Interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., lab tests, X-rays) and explain results to patients.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
Ensure compliance with medical protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and refer patients for specialist care when needed.
Participate in health promotion, education, and community outreach activities.
Mentor and guide junior staff and interns where applicable.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine and Community Health (preferred) or Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
Minimum of 3 years post-internship experience in a busy clinical setting.
Valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council.
Proven experience in both outpatient and inpatient care.
Competency in minor surgical procedures is an added advantage.
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and with minimal supervision.
