Perioperative Theatre Technologist

Health Pact Hospital Isiolo seeks to employ a Perioperative Theatre Technologist. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and ensuring sterility in theatre.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that operating table is set and ready for operation and in good working condition.
• Check the anesthetist machine as per the machine checklist before every operation.
• Ensure that the pin index cylinders are mounted on the machine and have gases in them.
• Ensure the anesthetic machine is serviced as per hospital Annual Planned preventive maintenance schedule.
• Assist in wheeling patients to and from theaters.
• Ensure that the anesthetic cart has sufficient drugs required for anesthetizing the patient and are replaced as needed.
• Ensure that the consumables required are in theaters and ready.
• Ensure that all equipment in theatre are working.
• Cleaning and sterilizing theaters, surgical instruments and sluice room.
• Ensure inventory of all equipment, non-pharmaceuticals and surgical sets are up-to date.
• Document all surgical procedures in the relevant registers and patient surgical safety checklist.
• Report damages and damaged equipment to the operational manager in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Perioperative Theatre Technologist
• Registered and licensed by the relevant body
• At least 1-2 years’ experience.
• Strong commitment to care of patients and general customer service.
