Pharmaceutical Technologist

Deanesh Hospital is seeking to recruit a qualified Pharmaceutical Technologist to support its pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, counseling patients, and ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately and efficiently
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, dosage, and possible side effects
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and stock levels
• Receive, verify, and store pharmaceutical supplies appropriately
• Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and storage of medications
• Monitor stock for expired or damaged drugs and ensure proper disposal
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory pharmaceutical requirements
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the dispensary/pharmacy area

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
• Registered and licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting
• Strong knowledge of drug interactions, dosages, and pharmaceutical practices
• Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
• Strong communication and customer service abilities
