Pharmaceutical Technologist – Tumutumu Hospital

P.C.E.A Tumutumu Hospital is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Pharmaceutical Technologist to join its dedicated healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medication, managing pharmaceutical inventory, and providing accurate advice on drug usage in line with professional standards and the hospital’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide correct dosage instructions and patient counseling on drug usage and side effects.
• Maintain stock levels by monitoring inventory, placing timely orders, and avoiding expiries or shortages.
• Ensure proper storage of drugs and strict adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
• Keep accurate records of prescriptions, stocks, and dispensed drugs.
• Assist in stock-taking, reorder level monitoring, and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board regulations and hospital policies.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure pharmacy environment.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and ethical practices at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital or busy healthcare facility.
• Registered with and holds a valid license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
• Proficient in computer applications relevant to pharmacy operations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must provide a recommendation letter from your religious leader, who should also be one of your referees.
