The Program Manager will lead the Tobacco Control Data Initiative, overseeing program implementation, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and advocacy efforts to reduce tobacco use and its associated health impacts. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional project management, communication, and analytical skills to ensure the program's success in driving evidence-based policy decisions and public health interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Leadership and Management:

    • Develop and execute strategic plans for the Tobacco Control Data Initiative, aligning with organizational objectives.
    • Monitor program progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust strategies to meet objectives effectively.
    • Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
  2. Data Collection and Analysis:

    • Oversee the design and implementation of data collection methodologies to assess tobacco use patterns, impacts, and trends.
    • Analyze and interpret complex data to generate actionable insights and inform policy development.
    • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of all program-related data.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, and international organizations to strengthen tobacco control initiatives.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to foster partnerships and advocacy efforts.
    • Represent the initiative in meetings, conferences, and public forums.
  4. Policy Development and Advocacy:

    • Translate data insights into policy recommendations, working closely with decision-makers to influence tobacco control legislation.
    • Support the development and dissemination of advocacy materials, reports, and presentations.
    • Lead awareness campaigns to promote public understanding of tobacco-related issues.
  5. Team Supervision and Capacity Building:

    • Manage program staff, providing leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
    • Coordinate training sessions and workshops to enhance team and stakeholder capacity in tobacco control and data utilization.
  6. Reporting and Communication:

    • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including donors.
    • Communicate program achievements, challenges, and updates effectively to ensure transparency and accountability.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, Policy Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in public health or data-driven initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Proven track record of stakeholder engagement and advocacy in public health or related sectors.
  • Knowledge of tobacco control policies, health data systems, and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, Tableau) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
