Controls Assurance Associate

The organization is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Controls Assurance Associate to join our team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the risk management, assurance, and governance framework of the bank. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, investigative, and technical skills and demonstrate a keen interest in banking risk and control environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Risk Assessment and Assurance:

  • Perform risk-based reviews and assurance activities to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.
  • Identify and document key risks faced by the bank and assess the strength of the control environment.

• Audit Support:

  • Assist in the execution of internal audits, penetration testing, and red teaming exercises to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Support the delivery of audit reports and ensure proper documentation of findings.

• Technical and Analytical Duties:

  • Utilize your expertise in full-stack web development (MERN) to analyze system vulnerabilities and propose solutions.
  • Conduct data-driven reviews using advanced Microsoft Office tools and methodologies.

• Governance and Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to the bank’s governance requirements and regulatory frameworks.
  • Support the implementation of controls and compliance initiatives in line with industry standards.

• Project Management:

  • Collaborate on projects following Agile methodologies to enhance control environments and operational efficiency.
  • Provide insights on risk mitigation strategies during project execution.

Education and Experience Required

• B-degree in Computer Science.
• Currently holding or pursuing qualifications such as ACIB, CPA, CIA, CISA, CCSA, or a related business or risk-related degree/qualification.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong foundation in auditing, assurance, and risk assessment under a risk-based methodology.
• Understanding of key risks faced by banks and their core control environments.
• Proficiency in penetration testing and red teaming techniques.
• Experience with full-stack web development (MERN stack).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with project management methodologies, particularly Agile.
• Knowledge of bank governance requirements and regulatory standards.
