Medprime Training College is seeking a passionate and qualified Nurse Tutor/Trainer to join our dynamic academic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing education, guiding students in their academic and clinical journey, and ensuring that our programs meet industry and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Instruction
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the approved nursing curriculum
- Apply diverse and innovative teaching methods such as simulations, demonstrations, group discussions, and case studies
- Foster a supportive learning environment that promotes critical thinking and clinical reasoning
2. Curriculum Development
- Participate in the review, design, and continuous improvement of the nursing curriculum
- Integrate evidence-based practices and current industry trends into teaching materials and assessments
3. Clinical Supervision
- Supervise and mentor students during clinical placements, ensuring practical skills align with theoretical knowledge
- Provide feedback and assess students’ clinical performance in healthcare settings
4. Student Mentorship & Support
- Serve as an academic mentor and advisor to nursing students
- Address individual learning needs and support students' academic, personal, and professional development
5. Assessment & Evaluation
- Design, administer, and mark exams, assignments, and other assessments to track student progress
- Maintain detailed and accurate student performance records and offer constructive feedback
6. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all academic and clinical training activities comply with Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) standards
- Prepare required documentation for audits, inspections, and accreditation processes
7. Continuous Professional Development
- Stay current with advancements in nursing education and practice
- Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance professional knowledge and teaching effectiveness
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BNSc) or a Diploma in Nursing with a recognized Teaching Certificate
A Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field is an added advantage
Licensure:
Valid registration and current practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK)
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year clinical nursing experience
Prior experience in teaching, clinical instruction, or professional training is highly desirable
Skills:
Strong understanding of nursing principles, ethics, and clinical practices
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in using digital tools and technology for teaching and administrative tasks
