Medprime training college is currently seeking a qualified and passionate Occupational Therapy Trainer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to students pursuing occupational therapy courses. The trainer will also facilitate hands-on clinical skills development, mentor students, and ensure curriculum standards align with industry requirements.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Instruction:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in accordance with the nursing curriculum.
- Use innovative teaching methods, including simulations, demonstrations, and case studies, to enhance learning.
Curriculum Development:
- Participate in the review and development of nursing curricula to ensure it meets regulatory and industry standards.
- Incorporate the latest evidence-based practices and trends in nursing education.
Clinical Supervision:
- Oversee students during clinical placements, ensuring they gain hands-on experience in line with course objectives.
- Provide guidance and feedback to students during practical sessions.
Student Support and Mentorship:
- Mentor and advise students on academic, personal, and professional development matters.
- Identify and address students’ learning needs to ensure their success.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Prepare and administer tests, assignments, and exams to evaluate students’ progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide constructive feedback.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all teaching activities comply with nursing council regulations and standards.
- Prepare documentation required for audits, inspections, and accreditation.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on advancements in nursing and education through continuous professional development.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: A Bachelor’s or diploma in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
- Certification: Registered and licensed occupational therapist with relevant professional body
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in occupational therapy. Teaching or training experience is an advantage.
