Description
The Offline Acquisition Agent identifies, pitches, and onboards new vendors onto the Jumia marketplace through physical market visits and offline channels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Vendor Acquisition & Prospecting
Identify and recruit potential vendors through physical market visits to shops, malls, distributors, and wholesalers.
Approach business owners and introduce Jumia's marketplace and vendor benefits.
Build a strong pipeline of potential vendors.
Scout for new brands, products, and high-potential sellers.
Vendor Pitching & Conversion
Present Jumia's proposition, commercial model, and selling process to prospects.
Explain commissions, shipping, payments, and order management.
Address vendor concerns and follow up through calls, WhatsApp, and visits to drive conversion.
Convert qualified prospects into active vendors within agreed timelines.
Vendor Onboarding & KYC Support
Guide vendors through the registration process.
Assist with KYC and business documentation.
Ensure vendor information is accurately captured.
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve onboarding issues.
Assortment & Vendor Quality
Assess vendors based on product assortment, pricing, brand potential, and stock availability.
Prioritize high-demand and commercially viable products.
Encourage vendors to bring a strong initial assortment.
Ensure vendors meet Jumia's quality and compliance standards.
Field Activity & Relationship Management
Conduct regular market visits within assigned territories.
Build strong relationships with business owners, distributors, and retailers.
Maintain a database of prospects and record visit outcomes and conversion status.
Attend trade events and business forums to generate leads.
Acquisition Performance
Achieve daily and monthly acquisition targets.
Track metrics: vendors approached, qualified leads, sign-ups, onboarded vendors, and conversion rates.
Maintain a healthy acquisition funnel and improve conversion rates.
Market Intelligence
Gather insights on competitor marketplaces, pricing, and seller activity.
Identify emerging brands and product categories with acquisition potential.
Share market feedback with internal teams.
Reporting & Process Adherence
Submit accurate daily field activity and acquisition reports.
Maintain up-to-date records of prospects, visits, and conversions.
Adhere to Jumia's vendor acquisition, KYC, and compliance processes.
Escalate challenges to internal teams when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
1-3 years in sales, field acquisition, business development, or vendor recruitment.
Experience in e-commerce, FMCG, or retail is an advantage.
Skills:
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently in the field.
Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
Results-oriented with a strong drive to meet targets.
Familiarity with the local market and vendor landscape.
