The Sales Coordinator will be the central operational hub for the Biodeal sales team, working closely with the Marketing department to ensure a consistent flow of qualified leads. This role is responsible for the strategic planning of sales activities, daily target setting, and the meticulous development of efficient route plans for Sales Representatives. The Sales Coordinator will be instrumental in optimizing the sales team's effectiveness, facilitating communication, and providing crucial support to achieve ambitious sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Management & Qualification:
- Collaborate daily with the Marketing team to identify, research, and qualify new leads from various sources (e.g., medical directories, professional associations, online platforms, market research).
- Maintain and update the database of target healthcare professionals (Dermatologists, Paediatricians, GPs, Physicians) and key pharmacy/distributor contacts.
Sales Planning & Goal Setting:
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals and objectives for each Sales Representative, aligned with overall category and SKU targets.
- Prioritize leads and sales activities based on strategic importance and potential impact.
Route Planning & Optimization:
- Create realistic and efficient daily/weekly route plans for all Sales Representatives, considering geographic clusters, traffic conditions (especially in Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret), and doctor/pharmacy availability.
- Utilize mapping tools and local knowledge to minimize travel time and maximize visit frequency.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track Sales Representatives' daily activities, visit outcomes, and sales figures against set goals.
- Generate regular reports (daily, weekly, monthly) on sales performance, lead conversion, and market feedback for the Marketing Head.
- Identify trends, challenges, and opportunities from sales data.
Sales Support & Communication:
- Act as a central point of contact for Sales Representatives, addressing operational queries and providing necessary resources.
- Facilitate communication between the sales team, marketing team, and other relevant departments.
- Assist in the preparation of sales materials, presentations, and product samples as needed.
CME Coordination:
- Support the organization and logistics of small, focused CME events for healthcare professionals, including venue booking, invitation management, and material preparation.
- Work with Sales Representatives to ensure optimal doctor attendance at CMEs.
Key Tasks:
- Conduct regular field visits and coaching sessions with Medical Representatives.
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate team meetings to review progress, plan upcoming tasks, and address challenges.
- Ensure all team activities comply with relevant codes of conduct, hospital protocols, and company ethical guidelines.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices within the Medical Representative team.
- Organize and participate in stakeholder engagement activities.
- Support the team in developing and maintaining partnerships with key accounts.
- Represent Biodeal at industry events and conferences.
- Identify and assess new business opportunities within the region.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a sales support, sales coordination, or lead generation role, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. FMCG experience is a plus point.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CRM software (or strong aptitude to learn) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data management and planning).
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Kenya's geography and key commercial areas (Mombasa) is an advantage.
