Description
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to join our FinTech company in Nairobi. With 7+ years of proven experience in sales within the FinTech industry, the ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing client relationships, and leading a high-performing sales team. You will develop and implement strategies to expand the company’s customer base, increase revenue, and build strong, lasting partnerships with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development & Execution:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets, growth objectives, and market penetration.
- Identify new business opportunities, both in existing and untapped markets, to ensure consistent growth.
- Develop and manage a sales pipeline, ensuring consistent lead generation and conversion.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends, making data-driven recommendations to adjust sales strategies.
Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales professionals, setting clear performance goals and ensuring their alignment with company objectives.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members to help them meet and exceed sales targets.
- Organize regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and performance.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and prospects, ensuring long-term business partnerships.
- Manage negotiations and close complex sales deals with C-suite executives and other senior stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored FinTech solutions that add value to their business.
Sales Forecasting & Reporting:
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports, providing visibility on sales performance and market trends to senior leadership.
- Track and analyze sales data to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s products and services, ensuring effective communication of their value proposition.
Market Expansion & Networking:
- Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to increase the company’s visibility and connect with potential clients and partners.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure sales efforts are aligned with product development and promotional strategies.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in a sales management role, preferably in the FinTech industry.
- Sales Expertise: Strong knowledge of FinTech products, services, and industry trends.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team to achieve sales goals and improve performance.
- Client Focused: Excellent client relationship-building skills with a proven track record of managing key accounts and growing a customer base.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively to senior stakeholders.
- Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation and closing skills with experience handling high-value contracts and complex deals.
- Analytical Ability: Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field. MBA is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a leadership role within a high-growth FinTech company.
- Knowledge of digital payment systems, mobile wallets, and financial technology solutions.
- Existing relationships with key players in the FinTech ecosystem in Nairobi.
