Logistics / Clearance Officer

We are seeking a results-driven Logistics / Clearance Officer to support our logistics operations and ensure efficient movement of goods across regions.

Job Summary

The Logistics / Clearance Officer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end cargo clearance process, ensuring timely coordination with clearing agents, transporters, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of clearance procedures, and experience within a manufacturing setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Order, review, and coordinate documentation such as Purchase Orders and Proforma Invoices (PFIs) to initiate clearance paperwork
• Follow up on all required clearance documents and ensure timely handover to the clearing agent
• Coordinate transportation and logistics in line with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Monitor the cargo process closely, ensuring compliance with SOPs at every stage
• Manage both incoming and outgoing cargo, reporting and resolving any damage or transporter liability promptly
• Provide accurate guidance on import/export clearance procedures and documentation requirements
• Support the sales team by arranging timely transportation for local deliveries
• Liaise with stakeholders to confirm delivery points and payment terms before offloading cargo
• Use only approved transporters or seek prior approval for alternatives
• Ensure timely submission and accuracy of transport invoices

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Must be conversant with regional routes and logistics operations
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing company
• Knowledge and experience in customs declaration processes is an added advantage
• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
