Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving and Dispatch Clerk to ensure timely and accurate receiving and dispatch of products at our vegetable oil extraction plant. This role involves managing stock transfers, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and upholding safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accurate, safe, and efficient stock transfers during loading and offloading of trucks.
- Receive and prepare work orders, monitor job progress, and communicate any logistic challenges.
- Liaise with Quality Control, Security, and Warehouse/Stores teams to ensure receiving and dispatch follow set procedures.
- Monitor stock movement into trucks, verify loads and documentation, and sign off with drivers and security.
- Schedule and supervise work crews (loaders, banksmen, casual labor) to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Logistics Superintendent to optimize truck and equipment usage safely.
- Dispatch vehicles in accordance with internal procedures.
- Ensure proper warehouse arrangement in coordination with the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Ensure efficient and safe handling of material handling equipment and tools.
- Follow all relevant SOPs, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Prioritize health and safety, complying with company instructions and policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Prepare timely dispatch and receiving reports.
- Assist in preparing and implementing accurate dispatch and receiving plans and schedules.
- Ensure safe loading of extracted oil into tankers as per established procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Support the health and safety committee by identifying risks/hazards and implementing safety recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of progressive experience in dispatch and receiving operations in manufacturing preferably vegetable extraction.
- Proficient computer skills: working knowledge of SAP or other MRP systems preferred.
- Knowledge of basic stock-taking procedures.
- Basic Firefighting and HSE training (preferred).
- Experience supervising loaders or logistics teams in loading and offloading activities.
- Experience in weighbridge operations is an added advantage.
