Job Description: Stores and Procurement Intern
Organization: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (Lewa)
Location: Isiolo, Kenya
Duration: 3 months (with the possibility of extension based on performance)
Application Period: Open for 2025
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming goods and supplies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, ensuring proper documentation and storage.
- Support the preparation of purchase orders and track procurement requests.
- Assist in supplier evaluation, selection, and management to ensure timely delivery of quality goods.
- Participate in periodic stock checks, reconciliations, and reporting on inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Help in managing procurement documentation, including invoices, contracts, and delivery notes.
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing inventory usage to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies for cost-effective procurement.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Stores and Procurement Manager.
Eligibility Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Recent graduate (2023–2024) seeking practical experience in stores and procurement management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with procurement software and inventory management systems is an added advantage.
