As we expand our footprint, we are looking for a reliable and competent Transport and Logistics Officer to join our dynamic operations team.

Job Summary:

The Transport and Logistics Officer will be responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and execution of all transport and logistics activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role requires excellent organizational skills, experience in managing transportation fleets, and a solid understanding of supply chain processes, particularly in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor transportation and logistics operations to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of delivery vehicles and drivers.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Track and report on the movement of goods using ERP and logistics systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of transport operations including vehicle maintenance, fuel usage, and delivery documentation.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, warehouse teams, and drivers to resolve transportation issues.
  • Monitor and manage transport costs, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of routes and delivery schedules to optimize performance.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of delivery notes, invoices, and transport logs.
  • Support in managing and maintaining the fleet, including servicing schedules and insurance renewals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in logistics or transport coordination, preferably within the manufacturing or FMCG industry.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems is required.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation management, fleet operations, and inventory control.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
