Junior Customer Service Executive

Description

Ensure smooth communication between clients and the company while facilitating efficient clearing and forwarding processes.

Company: Suhara Logistics Kenya

Location: Mombasa- Kenya

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities to upsell
  • Provide regular updates to clients on the status of their shipments and customs clearance
  • Liaise with clients to gather necessary documents for customs clearance (e.g., invoices, packing lists, permits).
  • Coordinate with internal teams, such as operations and Transport to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor the movement of shipments from origin to destination and provide clients with
  • Ensure all shipping and customs documentation is accurate and complies with Kenyan customs regulations.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting customs declarations and related
  • Keep abreast of changes in import/export regulations and inform clients accordingly
  • Address and resolve issues related to delays, damaged goods, or discrepancies in
  • Act as a mediator between clients, customs officials, and other stakeholders to resolve
  • Prepare periodic reports for clients on shipment progress and service
  • Gather client feedback to improve service delivery and identify areas for operational improvement
  • Ensure invoices for services are prepared and sent to clients on
  • Follow up on payments and resolve any billing disputes in collaboration with the accounts team
  • Liaise with customs officials, port authorities, and shipping lines to ensure smooth cargo
  • Build relationships with third-party vendors such as transporters and warehouse operators to enhance service efficiency.

Qualifications & Key Required Skills

  • A degree/Diploma in Logistics, Clearing & Forwarding, Shipping, or any other related
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Junior Customer Service Executive
  • Experience in handling both Local & Transit goods
  • Basic understanding of customs regulations, international trade laws, and tariff
  • Proficiency in using customs software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
  • Strong organizational and multitasking
  • Knowledge of Kenyan customs and international trade
  • Problem-solving and negotiation
