Dispatch Driver

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Dispatch Driver to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to transport goods from our dispatch center to designated locations in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of responsibility, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to safe driving practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transportation & Delivery:

  • Safely load, transport, and deliver goods to customers or business locations as scheduled.

  • Follow planned routes and schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.

  • Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transit.

• Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:

  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (check oil, fuel, tires, brakes, etc.).

  • Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or damage to management immediately.

  • Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, fueled, and in good operating condition.

• Documentation & Compliance:

  • Complete and submit logs, delivery records, and other required paperwork accurately and on time.

  • Verify shipment contents against manifests or invoices.

  • Obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery as needed.

  • Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.

• Customer Service:

  • Provide courteous and professional service to customers during deliveries.

  • Address basic customer inquiries and report feedback or issues to the dispatcher.

• Communication:

  • Maintain regular contact with the dispatch team to provide updates on delivery status, delays, or route changes.

  • Use mobile devices or GPS systems as provided for navigation and communication.

Requirements:

• Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license 

  • Clean driving record with no major violations.

  • Previous experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in a similar role preferred.

• Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, and safe driving practices.

  • Ability to read maps, follow GPS directions, and plan efficient routes.

  • Good physical fitness for loading/unloading goods (may involve lifting up to [e.g., 50 lbs/23 kg]).

  • Basic math skills for handling invoices and payments.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently.
