Credit Controller – Thika
Description
We are urgently seeking a highly organized and results-driven Credit Controller to join our team in Thika. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding accounts receivables, assessing credit risks, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely payments from customers to maintain healthy cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the company’s debtors ledger on a daily basis
- Follow up on overdue invoices through calls, emails, and customer visits
- Evaluate new credit requests and conduct credit checks
- Set up terms and conditions of credit for new clients
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies
- Prepare regular reports on outstanding debts and collection progress
- Liaise with the sales and customer service teams to resolve account issues
- Escalate long-standing debts to legal or collection agencies where necessary
- Ensure compliance with the company’s credit control policies and procedures
- Support month-end closing processes with accurate debtor reporting
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in credit control or debt collection
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems)
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and collection procedures
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Must be available to start immediately
