Description
The Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization in empowering women accountants and driving sustainable growth. The CEO will be responsible for strategic leadership, operational excellence, and ensuring the delivery of impactful initiatives to advance AWAK’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute strategies to double revenue and enhance member services.
- Lead the organization in achieving its mission, vision, and long-term goals.
- Monitor industry trends and adapt strategies to ensure sustainability and relevance.
Program Development:
- Oversee the design and delivery of impactful and profitable training programs.
- Ensure alignment of programs with member needs and organizational objectives.
Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the Board to implement policies and ensure sound governance.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and sponsors.
- Represent AWAK in key forums to enhance its visibility and influence.
Operational Excellence:
- Drive innovation and efficiency in organizational practices and processes.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team to achieve operational goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven leadership experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional association or non-profit organization.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in revenue growth and program profitability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and partnership development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategic planning and execution.
- Deep understanding of governance, compliance, and operational best practices.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
