Reservations/Administrative Assistant
Description
The Tamarind Group is seeking a detail-oriented and personable Reservations/Administrative Assistant to coordinate the daily activities of the Reservations Department. This role involves close collaboration with restaurant management and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth reservation handling and exceptional guest service. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Reservations Department, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in bookings
- Act as the main point of contact for all reservations-related inquiries
- Liaise with the Restaurant Manager to prepare and maintain detailed checklists for operations
- Coordinate with the Head Waiter to ensure up-to-date and accurate booking information is communicated to the service team
- Prepare and circulate a monthly calendar of events for the restaurant, ensuring all departments are informed
- Ensure availability and proper display of brochures, event flyers, and information packages for guests
- Maintain clear and organized records of bookings, guest preferences, and special requests
- Perform other administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Diploma in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field (a university degree is an added advantage)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a reservations or administrative role within a hospitality or service environment
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and reservation systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Customer-focused with a professional and courteous demeanor
