AGRONOMIST

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Agronomist to oversee crop health, farm productivity and technical operations, with a strong focus on maintaining quality standards for export produce.

Key Responsibilities

Crop Health & Yield

• Monitor crop health, vigor, stem production and overall farm productivity.
• Ensure crops meet required quality standards for export.
• Identify crop performance issues and recommend appropriate corrective measures.

Irrigation & Soil Management

• Monitor irrigation schedules and ensure optimal water application.
• Conduct and interpret soil and water tests.
• Develop and manage appropriate fertigation programs.
• Monitor soil fertility and crop nutritional requirements.

Pest & Disease Management

• Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices.
• Monitor crops for pests, diseases and other crop health issues.
• Diagnose crop problems and recommend appropriate treatment.
• Ensure proper and compliant use of agricultural chemicals.

Technical Records & Compliance

• Maintain accurate records of soil and water tests.
• Maintain spray programs, chemical application records and farm technical logs.
• Support quality audits and ensure technical documentation is up to date.
• Ensure adherence to relevant farm, safety and export quality standards.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agricultural Science or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in commercial floriculture or export produce.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and fertigation.
• Good understanding of plant pathology, pest and disease management.
• Experience with agricultural chemical application and record keeping.
• Strong analytical, observation and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and technical reporting skills.
