ROLE OVERVIEW
As the Head of Finance – Mombasa Branch, you will play a key role in driving financial excellence, supporting strategic planning, ensuring compliance, and leading a high-performing finance team at the branch level
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the financial planning, direction, and management of the branch’s accounting
- Support the implementation of business strategies through sound financial insight.
Financial Reporting
- Ensure timely submission of Weekly Spend Projections and Mombasa AP reports.
- Track and report container deposit status
Audit & Tax Compliance
- Ensure ETR compliance for all
- Coordinate audit readiness by preparing and submitting necessary documents and trial
Accounting & Reconciliations
- Oversee accurate financial postings and monthly bank
- Validate AR invoices and ensure AP invoices are accurately captured in both Tally and TrakIT
- Maintain reconciled ledgers (e.g., KargoPay, shipping lines, container deposits).
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare branch forecasts and monitor budget
- Flag potential overruns and recommend corrective
- Ensure tight cost control aligned to approved
Team Management
- Define roles and performance expectations for the finance
- Lead the appraisal process and champion a positive and productive work culture.
- Offer training, mentorship, and continuous development for team
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, or related
- CPA / ACCA / ACA qualification is
- Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in a similar role within the Clearing and Forwarding
- Experience managing a team and dealing with stakeholders (KRA, NHIF, NSSF, auditors, banks, clients).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Tally, Oracle, or
- Knowledge of IFRS is an added
