Sales and Marketing Officer
Description
To promote, market, sell and distribute the company’s range of animal feeds products. This role involves developing sales strategies, building customer relationships, identifying market opportunities and implementing effective marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through field visits, cold calls and networking with farmers, agrovets and distributors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers. (farmers, cooperatives, and retailers).
- Developing specific plans to ensure growth both long and short-term.
- Create regional sales plans and quotas in alignment with business objectives.
- Monitor and Evaluate team and individual performances.
- Analyze regional market trends and discover new opportunities for growth.
- Prepare and lead the Sales Team Meetings with focus on results vs. targets set.
- Design Projected Journey Plan (PJP) and monitor compliance
- Ensure delivery as per Projected Journey Plan (PJP) and monitor order vs delivery gap
- Plan and review target achievement and provide feedback
- Follow-up of field budgets versus incremental sales per rep.
- Address potential problems and suggest prompt solutions.
- Achieve sales targets set by the company.
- Provide detailed reporting on sales progress on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as guided by the existing sales policy.
- Collaborate with the production and dispatch team to ensure timely product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Act as the main liaison link between the company and the customers.
- Use the existing technology support to record, monitor and track sales records.
- Ensure they have read and understood the current sales and marketing policy to ensure they are working within the confines of the policy.
- Marketing Activities:
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns to generate leads and increase product awareness.
- Conduct market research to understand trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations.
- After-Sales Support:
- Monitor customer feedback and provide insights to improve product offerings and services.
- Keep customer engagement going even after they have purchased.
Quality Statement
All associates have the responsibility to report problem(s) with regards to product safety and quality to the production lead or Director. The production team shall document the issue(s) reported and ensure good product quality and product safety standards in the factory are implemented consistently and sustained.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the Agricultural or animal feed sector.
- Strong understanding of livestock production and animal nutrition is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Motorbike driving skills and license.
Key Competencies and Skills:
- Knowledge of rural/agricultural markets.
- Knowledge of payment systems like MPESA and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
- Leadership: Ability to oversee sales and marketing functions and coordinate between teams effectively.
