MEDS provides reliable and cost-effective supply chain solutions, serving clients across Kenya and beyond. Our mandate includes the procurement, warehousing, and distribution of quality-assured medical products and health technologies.
Project Overview
MEDS is currently implementing the USAID Dawa za Ubora project, funded by USAID Kenya and East Africa, running through June 2026. The project aims to deliver efficient and accountable supply chain services for health commodities related to HIV, Malaria, Tuberculosis, MNCH, and Global Health Security, ensuring equitable access to essential treatments across all 47 counties in Kenya.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Warehouse Team Lead to oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the timely, accurate, and secure handling of Health Products and Technologies (HPT). The role involves supervising warehouse teams, maintaining regulatory compliance, and optimizing operational workflows.
Note: This position is contingent upon continued availability of USG donor funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the receipt and proper documentation of Health Products and Technologies (HPT) for accountability.
- Oversee stock release to the inspection stage for quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure accurate inventory management during storage and order fulfillment.
- Supervise warehouse staff to ensure timely and error-free order processing.
- Enforce the use of barcode systems in applicable warehouse operations.
- Lead daily warehouse operations and manage team performance against set targets.
- Ensure optimal use of warehouse resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Prepare and submit timely operational and inventory reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Implement and monitor adherence to Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP) for health commodities.
- Ensure that all warehouse handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet movers) is operational and well-maintained.
- Manage packaging materials and related consumables to minimize waste and ensure efficient use.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and productive working environment for the warehouse team.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Health Systems Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Diploma in Pharmacy is required for candidates without a Pharmacy degree.
- Registered or enrolled with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain or warehouse management, with 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong operational planning, team leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in donor-funded programs is highly desirable.
- Professional certification in CILT, CIPS, CHL, Medical Logistics, or equivalent is an added advantage.
