Network Engineer
Description
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in deploying and managing LAN, WAN, and wireless systems, as well as configuring and maintaining network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring and optimizing network performance, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and implementing security measures to safeguard our data. As a key member of the IT team, the Network Engineer will also be responsible for collaborating on network upgrades and providing technical support to users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless network systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Implement security measures to protect data, prevent unauthorized access, and maintain compliance with organizational security standards.
- Document network setups, configurations, and changes to ensure up-to-date records.
- Collaborate with the IT team on network upgrades, improvements, and new installations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users, addressing network-related inquiries and issues.
- Stay updated with the latest network technologies and trends to continuously improve infrastructure and security.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, and wireless network systems.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking hardware.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
