Network and Infrastructure Engineer
Description
The Karen Hospital is seeking a skilled and proactive Network and Infrastructure Engineer to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure efficient and secure operations of our network systems, server hardware, and software, supporting the hospital's mission of providing quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Administration:
- Design, implement, and manage the hospital’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance to ensure reliability, speed, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to minimize downtime.
Server and Systems Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure systems are updated with the latest patches and security protocols.
- Conduct regular data backups and disaster recovery planning.
Infrastructure Security:
- Implement and manage firewalls, antivirus software, and other security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Monitor and address potential vulnerabilities or breaches in the IT environment.
User Support and Training:
- Provide technical support to staff for network and infrastructure-related issues.
- Develop and deliver training sessions to improve user understanding of IT systems.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, infrastructure changes, and maintenance activities.
- Provide regular reports on system performance and improvement recommendations.
Vendor and Project Management:
- Coordinate with external vendors for procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
- Lead IT-related projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective implementation.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in network administration and IT infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux servers, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and other network security technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or equivalent will be an added advantage.
