The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and maintenance of all hotel facilities, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems function optimally. This role involves planning and executing preventive maintenance programs, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel equipment, machinery, and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, and kitchen appliances.
  • Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset lifespan.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of the maintenance team.
  • Assign tasks and manage workloads effectively to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement within the department.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all local building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and safety procedures.

Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage the maintenance department's budget, including forecasting expenses for repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor inventory levels of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring cost-effective procurement.

Guest Service Support:

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and other hotel departments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support special projects or events requiring technical expertise.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Diploma or degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong team management and communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and energy conservation practices.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in using maintenance management software and MS Office applications.
