OSP Patrol Officer

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled OSP Patrol Officer to join Freside Group Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for patrolling and inspecting fiber optic routes and infrastructure to prevent damage and ensure network reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned backbone links, fiber routes, and clusters daily.

• Inspect fiber cables and infrastructure for potential damage.

• Raise immediate alarms on high-risk areas and notify the NOC and field teams.

• Comply with EIS and field safety requirements.

• Liaise with contractors, authorities, and communities where necessary.

• Identify areas where fiber cables are at risk of being cut or damaged.

• Take and submit geotagged photographs as evidence for route inspections.

• Report on areas covered, high-risk locations, network observations, and incidents.

• Maintain a proactive approach to detecting fiber cuts before they occur.

• Monitor construction, excavation, and road works that may threaten underground or aerial fiber routes.

• Inspect distribution points for damaged boxes, loose covers, exposed cables, and poor labelling.

• Revisit reported threats to confirm corrective action has been completed.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate in Fiber Optics or a related field.

• At least 1+ year of experience in a similar role.

• Basic understanding of fiber network concepts.

• Valid driver's license.

• Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
