Senior Electrical Technician

Responsible for ensuring the continuous, reliable operation of critical infrastructure, including generators, pumps, lighting, and HVAC systems, to support the production of premium export-grade roses.

Principal Accountabilities

• Develop and implement routine maintenance schedules for all electrical installations.

• Act as the primary responder to electrical emergencies, troubleshooting faults in high-voltage systems, compressors, and motor controls to minimize downtime.

• Maintain and service diesel generators, transformers, inverters, pumps, fans, and greenhouse lighting.

• Guide and perform electrical installations, commissioning of new equipment, and wiring across the farm, staff quarters, and facilities.

• Supervise junior technicians and electrical contractors, ensuring compliance with high-quality standards and timelines.

• Ensure all electrical works adhere to NEMA, OSHA, and KS/EPRA standards, and conduct periodic electrical risk assessments while enforcing the use of PPE.

• Collaborate with the procurement team to source, verify, and authenticate high-quality electrical spare parts.

The Person – Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience (5+ years), with at least 2-3 years in an industrial setting, preferably within a large-scale agricultural or floricultural facility.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in 3-phase systems, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, PLCs, automation systems, electrical schematics, CAD drawing and wiring diagrams, and other diagnostic tools.
• Certifications: Valid electrical practicing certificate/license (e.g., ERC Graded B).
• Good understanding of the floriculture industry code of conduct.
• Excellent task management, numerical, and planning skills.
• Good communication, interpersonal relationship, and supervisory skills.
