Description
Help us build one of Kenya's most trusted brands for small retailers
At Sevi, we help retailers access stock through a simple Order Now, Pay Later model.
As we enter our next phase of growth, we're investing in something bigger than marketing campaigns. We want to understand what truly builds trust with retailers in local communities, and use those insights to build a brand that becomes the first choice for shop owners across Kenya.
We're looking for a practical, curious and hands-on marketer who enjoys turning customer insights into effective marketing. Someone who's just as comfortable spending time in the field talking to retailers as they are creating marketing materials or coordinating an activation.
This is an opportunity to become Sevi's first dedicated marketing hire and help shape how our brand grows.
Your first project at Sevi
In the second half of 2026, we'll be running an important growth pilot in Nairobi to understand how marketing can help us build trust with retailers.
Working closely with Sevi's Sales Manager, you'll help design, produce and improve the marketing materials used throughout the pilot. Most importantly, you'll continuously learn from retailers and our sales team, using those insights to refine our marketing as we go.
Your work will help answer questions like:
- What messages make retailers trust Sevi?
- Which marketing materials encourage sign-ups?
- What causes hesitation or confusion?
- Which activations create the biggest impact?
The insights from this pilot will lay the foundation for Sevi's long-term marketing strategy.
What you'll do
Learn from the field
- Spend time alongside our sales team visiting retailers and agents.
- Gather feedback on how retailers respond to our marketing materials.
- Understand what builds trust, what creates hesitation, and why some retailers sign up while others don't.
- Turn customer insights into recommendations that improve our marketing.
- Translate the marketing plans into activities in the market.
Create marketing materials
- Produce brochures, posters, signage, digital assets and sales collateral.
- Adapt messaging and creative based on what you're learning in the field.
- Ensure all materials are clear, consistent and aligned with Sevi's brand.
- Use existing brand guidelines while helping evolve them over time.
Coordinate activations
- Support local marketing activations and retailer engagement events.
- Coordinate production of merchandise including shirts, banners, lanyards, notebooks and other field materials.
- Manage relationships with printers and suppliers to deliver quality work on time and within budget.
- Support branding for booths, stalls and community activation points.
Measure what works
- Monitor product performance in the market.
- Track marketing budgets and production costs.
- Monitor retailer interest and sign-up performance.
- Document learnings from campaigns and activations.
- Recommend improvements based on evidence, not assumptions.
Where this role can grow
