Are you a hands-on operations leader with solid experience in plastic manufacturing? We are looking for a highly organized and results-driven Operations Manager to lead daily plant operations in a dynamic and fast-paced factory setting.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Factory Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing production processes, maintaining product quality, ensuring workforce productivity, and improving overall operational efficiency. You will lead plant activities by applying strategic planning, resource optimization, and a strong culture of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and
- Develop and implement production schedules and monitor output against
- Ensure all machinery is maintained and fully operational with preventive maintenance schedules in
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with product and regulatory
- Lead, train, and supervise factory staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to company
- Analyze machine downtime, raw material usage, and workforce productivity for continuous
- Monitor raw material inventory and coordinate timely
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure proper use of PPE at all
- Prepare and submit production and maintenance reports to management
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Injection OEE – 85% & Blow OEE – 85%
- Maintenance Cost – ≤ KES 5/KG of PET
- Internal Audit Compliance – 100%
- Downtime Due to Spares – Max 2 hours/day (excluding special cases)
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in the plastics industry.
- Proven track record in plant operations management, production planning, and staff
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machine maintenance, and safety
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication
- Ability to work in a high-risk, fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Proficient in reporting and management
