Job Summary
APaD Kenya is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Procurement & Logistics Officer to support its operations and program delivery. The successful candidate will oversee procurement planning and execution, ensure compliance with organizational and donor procurement regulations, and manage logistical operations across all project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all procurement activities in line with APaD and donor policies
- Prepare and review procurement documentation including RFQs, bid evaluations, and purchase orders
- Maintain and update supplier databases and develop vendor relationships based on transparency and value
- Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services while adhering to quality standards
- Manage inventory systems and ensure proper storage, labeling, and tracking of assets and supplies
- Oversee transportation and delivery of goods to project sites and maintain accurate logistics records
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely availability of resources for field activities
- Support in organizing logistics for meetings, trainings, field visits, and emergency response
- Monitor contract performance and manage service providers for logistics, travel, and supply chain services
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal audit and procurement guidelines
- Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in procurement and logistics within an NGO, humanitarian, or development organization
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, especially in donor-funded projects (e.g., USAID, EU, UN)
- Strong understanding of warehousing, asset management, and supply chain processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software or ERP systems
- Member of a recognized professional body such as KISM is an added advantage
