Description
We are looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to oversee daily workshop and showroom operations for a commercial joinery and interior fit-out company. The role will focus on production, team supervision, quality, cost control, and timely delivery of customer orders.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop & Production Management
- Supervise daily workshop operations and production activities.
- Coordinate workshop staff and site installation teams.
- Ensure products meet quality, durability, and design standards.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.
Team Leadership
- Allocate duties and supervise workshop staff.
- Train employees on machinery use and safety procedures.
- Manage shifts, attendance, and timekeeping.
- Encourage continuous improvement and product innovation.
Cost & Inventory Control
- Monitor workshop budgets and operating costs.
- Control inventory and minimize material wastage.
- Assist with quotations, reports, and basic financial calculations.
- Support the achievement of sales and operational targets.
Customer Service
- Ensure orders are completed and delivered on time.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve workshop-related issues.
- Maintain high standards across the showroom and workshop.
Safety & Maintenance
- Enforce workplace health and safety requirements.
- Monitor maintenance of machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
- Promote environmentally responsible and sustainable workshop practices.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Woodwork, Interior Design, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in commercial woodwork or factory operations, including supervisory experience.
- Good English communication skills.
- Computer skills, including preparation of quotations and reports.
- Basic budgeting and financial calculation skills.
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding factory environment and lift items of up to 50kg.
