Description
Ivory Health Solutions is seeking a qualified and compassionate Clinical Officer to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality outpatient and inpatient medical care, diagnosing and treating common illnesses, and promoting preventive healthcare services. This role requires excellent clinical skills, strong patient interaction abilities, and a commitment to ethical medical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient consultations, examinations, and diagnoses in a clinical setting.
- Prescribe and administer appropriate treatment, medications, and referrals as needed.
- Perform minor surgical procedures and wound management.
- Monitor and manage chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, asthma).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with medical standards.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients on disease prevention and wellness.
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in community health outreach programs as required.
- Assist in emergency medical care when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or Degree in Clinical Medicine & Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Registered and licensed by the Clinical Officers Council (COC) Kenya.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience (preferred but not mandatory for entry-level).
- Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Electronic Medical Records).
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a hospital, clinic, or NGO setting.
- Additional training in HIV/AIDS, TB, or maternal-child health programs.
- Knowledge of NHIF and other insurance schemes.
