Nestled on the banks of the Mara River within the Enonkishu Conservancy, House in the Wild is a private, family-run boutique lodge offering a unique and immersive experience in the heart of the Maasai Mara. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant General Manager to support daily operations and uphold the high standards of service and hospitality that define our lodge.
Position Overview:
As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a key leadership role, working closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth and efficient lodge operations. You will oversee staff, coordinate guest services, and maintain the quality, comfort, and authenticity that guests expect in a luxury safari lodge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the General Manager in all aspects of lodge operations including guest relations, housekeeping, F&B, front office, and maintenance.
- Lead, train, and motivate staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences with attention to detail.
- Ensure operational excellence and service delivery in line with luxury hospitality standards.
- Help coordinate logistics for guest arrivals/departures, game drives, and special events.
- Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sustainability standards.
- Prepare operational reports and contribute to strategic planning for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Kenyan National
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a luxury lodge or high-end hospitality environment
- Formal hospitality training (diploma or degree in hospitality, tourism, or related field)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence
- Excellent written and oral communication in English
- Ability to thrive in a remote wilderness setting with a small, close-knit team
