Laboratory Technologist

Health Pact Hospital Isiolo seeks to employ a Laboratory Technologist. The incumbent will be responsible for providing efficient, effective, quality clinical services to patients following established treatment protocols.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the accuracy of lab results and maintains records of the same.
• provides patients with information and guides them through the examination.
• Organizes work by matching computer orders with specimen labeling, sorting specimens, and checking specimens’ delivery.
• Collects, prepares and store specimens.
• Ensure optimum integrity, quantity and type of test samples e.g. Examines and approves samples other professionals collect.
• Maintains quality results by running standards and controls.
• verifies equipment function through routine equipment maintenance.
• Identifies and communicates abnormal patient conditions by alerting supervisory personnel.
• Ensures the patient of receiving compatible blood by completing blood typing, antibody screening, and compatibility testing.
• Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Maintains patient confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential.
• Standardizing test procedures to ensure consistency, reliability and usefulness of results.
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned

Qualifications

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science
• Registered and licensed by the KMLTTB
• Strong commitment to care of patients and general customer service.
