Our client, a reputable company in the chemical manufacturing sector, is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to oversee and streamline all operational functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the chemical industry, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements including OSHA, TWIGA, NEMA, KEBS, and IMPACT Index standards. This role will be instrumental in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production processes, while driving continuous improvement across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily plant and warehouse operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in all chemical processes.
- Ensure full compliance with industry regulations and safety protocols, including OSHA, TWIGA, IMPACT Index, KEBS, and environmental standards.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing, handling, and storage of chemicals.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance.
- Monitor key operational metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement and cost optimization.
- Supervise compliance documentation, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training programs.
- Drive operational excellence through effective use of technology, automation, and lean principles.
- Liaise with government and regulatory agencies for audits, licensing, and reporting.
- Manage inventory, supply chain logistics, and ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance reviews for the operations team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 4–7 years of experience in operations within the chemical or manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical safety regulations, compliance standards, and environmental policies.
- Strong familiarity with OSHA, NEMA, TWIGA Chemicals protocols, KEBS standards, and the IMPACT index.
- Proven track record of managing complex operations and leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office tools.
