Job Purpose:
The CCTV Controller will be responsible for monitoring and operating CCTV systems to ensure the security and safety of the organization's premises, employees, and visitors. The role involves real-time surveillance, incident reporting, evidence retrieval, and collaboration with security and law enforcement teams when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor live and recorded CCTV footage to detect suspicious or unauthorized activities.
- Respond to alarms and security incidents by notifying relevant personnel or emergency services.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of activities, incidents, and system faults.
- Review, retrieve, and preserve CCTV footage for investigations or legal proceedings.
- Conduct daily checks to ensure all cameras and related systems are functional and report any malfunctions.
- Work closely with on-ground security teams to coordinate responses to observed incidents.
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of all CCTV data and footage.
- Provide reports and updates to supervisors as required.
- Support emergency and evacuation procedures by providing visual support via CCTV feeds.
- Stay updated on security protocols and CCTV operation best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or Certificate in Security Management, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a busy commercial or industrial environment.
- Proficient in operating digital CCTV systems and control room equipment.
- Familiarity with data protection laws and handling of confidential information.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent observation, communication, and reporting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of integrity.
Desirable Attributes:
- Prior experience working in coordination with law enforcement or emergency services.
- Knowledge of security and emergency response procedures.
- Basic IT and network troubleshooting skills.
Working Conditions:
- Shift-based schedule including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Control room environment with long periods of screen monitoring.
- Occasional field visits may be required.
