Description
We are looking for a Business Development Associate to support the growth and expansion of the Pickup Station network across Kenya. The role will focus on identifying potential partners, acquiring and onboarding new Pickup Stations, managing existing partners and supporting station performance.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify potential Pickup Station locations and business opportunities.
- Source and engage potential station partners.
- Present the Pickup Station business opportunity to prospective partners.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential partners.
- Support the launch of new stations and expansion into new locations.
Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Pickup Station partners.
- Support partner onboarding and ensure all required documentation is completed.
- Explain station processes, requirements and operational procedures to partners.
- Follow up on partner concerns and coordinate their resolution.
- Support partner retention and engagement.
Station Operations
- Visit and monitor assigned Pickup Stations.
- Track station performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Work with partners to improve productivity, customer adoption and collection rates.
- Identify operational challenges and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve them.
- Ensure Pickup Stations meet the required operational standards.
Reporting & Data
- Maintain accurate records of Pickup Stations and partners.
- Track key performance indicators and station performance.
- Prepare regular reports on new partners, station performance and expansion activities.
- Use data to identify growth opportunities and operational challenges.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, Marketing, Operations or a related field.
- 1–3 years' experience in business development, sales, operations, logistics or a related role.
- Experience working with partners, agents or merchants is an added advantage.
- Good communication and relationship-management skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently within assigned regions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.

The ideal candidate should be commercially minded, confident in field-based work, good with people and data, and capable of identifying opportunities and converting them into successful partnerships. They should also be proactive, self-driven and comfortable working towards performance targets.
