Job Summary
Lednan Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, and securing all patient medical records, ensuring confidentiality, and supporting the clinical and administrative functions of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and file patient records in a timely and accurate manner
- Retrieve and issue medical records for clinicians and authorized personnel upon request
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all health records and patient information
- Ensure that medical files are up to date, complete, and properly stored
- Enter and update patient data in the hospital’s electronic records system
- Track and manage records for discharged, referred, or transferred patients
- Assist in compiling medical data and generating reports as required
- Support health staff in recordkeeping and compliance with data protection policies
- Prepare records for audits and regulatory inspections when needed
- Identify and report discrepancies or missing information in patient files
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Health Records and Information Management or a related field
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare facility (internship experience can be considered)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation procedures
- Proficiency in health information systems and MS Office applications
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of confidentiality laws and data protection principles
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
